The package # 81 00 00 comprises the "Wind" Display, the Precision Wind Sensor, a 25m (80 ft) mast cable, bus cable and connectors. A power connection cable and bus terminator is required once in a system (#500115, €_27.58).

Wind data can be displayed on any display in the system, e.g. on a "Log" Display or "Multi" Display. This reduces system cost. However, if required, any number of "Wind" Displays may be added.

Bright yellow LED-pointer around face of display shows apparent and true wind angle.
The digital LCD reads:

 · VMG upwind and downwind
 · Magnetic wind direction
 · Calibration settings

Precision Wind Sensor

Cobwebs could eventually block an anemometer wheel during calm periods. However, the Tecnautic Wind Sensor has a little motor inside, that will free it automatically, every time power is turned on.
During normal operation, the motor is delivering just enough torque, to compensate for the bearing friction, thus effectively eliminating any drag.
The wind angle is sensed with a wedge shaped vane, providing higher accuracy than a single vane. The resulting data are so accurate, that the angle can be measured with a resolution of 0,3 degrees. The Sensor has ball bearings for wind speed and wind angle and has virtually no wear.

Ultrasonic Wind Sensor
with Compass

 Option:

The AirmarŪ PB200 Ultrasonic Wind Sensor has no moving parts and comes together with a built in GPS receiver, a Heading-Sensor, an Inclinometer and an air pressure and temperature sensor, all in the same housing. Data are transmitted by the sensor in NMEA format and are shown on the Cockpit displays or - with the included "WeatherCaster" software - on a PC screen.

Mast Angle Sensor

(for rotating mast)

 		 In case of a rotating mast, the mast angle has to be taken into account, when measuring the wind direction. This is a fully automatic feature on the TECNAUTIC Wind Instruments. A mast angle sensor has to be installed at the mast foot and will be connected to a sensor input of a Cockpit Display.
